Biographie

MICHAEL ZEIGER is a leading Russian composer and concert pianist who has been living in New York City since 1995. He is the sole pupil of Alemdar Karamanov, one of the greatest symphonists of XX Century. He holds a doctorate in composition from the Moscow Conservatory (studied with Albert Lehman) and Master’s degrees in composition and piano performance from the Gorky Conservatory (studied composition with Arkady Nesterov and piano with Alexander Aleksandrov and Isaac Katz)

 

Michael Zeiger compositions include wide variety of symphonic, operatic, vocal, choral and chamber works. They have been performed throughout the world, and at numerous international composers’ festivals.

As a pianist he toured in Europe, where he was called “excellent pianist” by Süddeutsche Zeitung, and appeared at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall. He also performed with members of New York Philharmonic, violinist Nina Beilina, bass Miikhail Svetlov, and the Russian Chamber Chorus of New York.
